Economic Development Organizations

A common myth is that Economic Development Organizations (EDO’s) exist solely to bring new businesses to the area. The truth is that they also have an extensive array of expansion and retention services to help growing businesses in their communities. Florida MEP works closely with both state and local economic development organizations to help manufacturers address growth issues, become more sustainable, and innovate. Florida Economic Development Council
Florida EDC’s purpose is to educate, advocate, and connect. Florida EDC, which is comprised of eight regions, develops, promotes, and provides continuing professional development and best practices for members, enabling them to remain aware and stay ahead of changes in state economic development programs and best practices. FL EDC is an active presence at our state’s capitol in Tallahassee to develop and promote sound economic development policy in the legislature.

The UTBMA is dedicated to serving the unique business and networking needs of the approximately 400 manufacturers located in the region.
