FLORIDA MANUFACTURING EXTENSION PARTNERSHIP AND THE WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT BOARD OF THE TREASURE COAST CELEBRATE THE M.O.S.T. TRAINING GRADUATION ON FRIDAY, MARCH 28, 2008 Florida Manufacturing Extension Partnership (Florida MEP), in conjunction with the Workforce Development Board of the Treasure Coast, is pleased to announce the graduation of Florida’s first M.O.S.T. (Mobile Outreach Skills Training) class. Through grant funding from the Workforce Development Board of the Treasure Coast, the Florida MEP facilitated the two-week training, with the primary goal of addressing the critical need of local manufacturers to fill a rapidly increasing number of entry level machine operator positions. The M.O.S.T. program uses a mobile training unit, equipped with computer terminals and interactive machines, facilitated by an expert instructor, located at a manufacturing facility. After completion of the initial two-week training, trainees enter a 60-day on-the-job training program and test for the Florida Work Readiness Certification. Martin and St. Lucie County manufacturers who participated in this innovative training are: Waterblasting Technologies, Inc.; Krieger Machine Company, Inc.; SOL, Inc.; Hurricane Boatlifts, Inc.; Awareness Technologies, Inc.; Advanced Machines and Tool, Inc.; Applied Concepts Aircraft Solutions, Inc.; and MP Manufacturing & Design, Inc. These manufacturers either agreed to hire the new graduates or have their employees participate in the M.O.S.T. training to upgrade their skills. Twelve trainees will graduate from the M.O.S.T. Program at the Stuart One Stop Career Center Friday, March 28, 2008.
